Can we change the book?

Yes. Three revisions are included, additional revisions cost €9.90 each.

What happens to my child's photos?

Photos are used solely for image consistency in the book, stored in the EU and deleted automatically after delivery.

Do I get a printed copy?

Yes. At checkout you choose between the digital PDF for instant download and a printed softcover or hardcover, shipped to your door. For print you pick the shipping method: standard (usually 1–3 weeks), tracked (approx. 7–12 business days) or express (approx. 5–8 business days). All times are estimates, not a binding commitment.

Which languages do you support?

Books and UI are currently available in German and English.

Do you use cookies or tracking?

Only strictly necessary cookies (login session, language choice, chat state). No advertising or tracking cookies, no third-party pixels. Our analytics are cookieless — which is why we don't need a cookie banner. Details in the privacy policy.

German is the binding contractual language. This English version is a service translation for convenience.

§ 1 Scope and contracting party

These General Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts concluded between you ("customer") and Tiamat UG (haftungsbeschränkt), An der Strusbek 12, 22926 Ahrensburg, represented by managing director Ansgar Holtmann ("we" or "Tiamat"), via the website https://heldenflug.de (Heldenflug). These terms apply exclusively to consumers within the meaning of § 13 BGB. The contractual language is German; translations are for information only.

§ 2 Description of services

We offer the creation of personalised children's books as a digital, print-ready PDF, generated from your input (child's name, age, favourite topics, optional photo) using AI-assisted processes (see § 8 and our privacy policy). Three product variants are offered:

§ 3 Conclusion of contract

The display of product variants is not a binding offer. You start a free, non-binding concept chat; we present a concept; on approval you place a binding offer by clicking "Order with payment obligation"; we accept by sending the order confirmation by email. Payment is processed via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland).

§ 4 Prices, payment, tax

The prices displayed at the time of order apply. All prices are final prices including statutory VAT. Payment is due upon conclusion of the contract (prepayment) via card or other Stripe-supported methods.

§ 5 Delivery

Delivery is exclusively digital as a PDF download via your account. Production typically takes 10–25 minutes after payment. The PDF remains available for re-download as long as your account exists.

§ 6 Revisions

Three (3) revisions per book are included. A revision is a request to adjust a specific aspect of the book; a complete re-conception counts as a new order. Each further revision costs €9.90 and must be requested within 30 days of first delivery.

§ 7 Right of withdrawal and exclusion

As a consumer you generally have a statutory right of withdrawal; the full withdrawal policy is at heldenflug.de/en/legal/withdrawal. Important: the right of withdrawal is excluded under § 312g (2) no. 1 BGB for goods made to individual specification or clearly tailored to personal needs — our books fall under this exclusion. Additionally, under § 356 (5) BGB the right of withdrawal lapses for digital content not on a physical medium once you have expressly agreed that we begin performance before the withdrawal period expires and have confirmed your knowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal. You give this express consent in the order process by actively ticking a checkbox directly before payment.

§ 8 Note on AI-assisted creation

We use AI-assisted processes for the concept, story text and illustrations. We check generated content for age-appropriateness and correctness before delivery; occasional inaccuracies may occur, for which the included revisions are intended. We cannot guarantee a particular artistic quality or writing style.

§ 9 Liability for defects

Statutory warranty rules under §§ 327d ff., 434 ff. BGB apply. For a proven technical defect in the PDF we have the right to cure by recreating the file; if cure fails you may withdraw or reduce the price.

§ 10 Ownership and usage rights

Upon full payment we grant you a simple, unlimited, transferable right to use the created book for private purposes (reading, reading aloud, printing for your own family, gifting). Not included: commercial reproduction/sale, publication, adaptation as a template, or use as AI training data. Copyright in the work and the illustration/story patterns remains with Tiamat UG.

§ 11 Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health. Otherwise we are liable only for breach of a material contractual duty and only up to the typical, foreseeable damage. Liability under the Product Liability Act is unaffected.

§ 12 Data protection

The processing of your personal data is governed by our privacy policy at heldenflug.de/en/legal/privacy.

§ 13 Dispute resolution

The European Commission provides an ODR platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

§ 14 Applicable law, jurisdiction

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Sales Convention. Consumers resident in another EU country retain the protection of mandatory provisions of their country of residence.

§ 15 Final provisions

Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. Changes to these terms are communicated by email at least 6 weeks before they take effect. Last updated: 29.05.2026.
